This guy has no Idea. People need to be educated about fishless cycling. This is where the biological processes required in the start up of an aquarium are done without harming fish using a product containing ammonia. Cycling your tank using fish is CRUEL!

Mark is a dumbass. He doesn’t deserve to work at a fish store with all that misinformation. Tiger Barbs and Gouramies are NOT good starter fish for cycling. No fish is really…but zebra danios would be the best if not going fishless cycling. All these expert village videos suck and are filled with incorrect info.

    Tiger barbs can be …
Tiger barbs can be horrible starter fish. And they would limit your tank to semi-aggressive (unless you get rid of them I guess) PLUS they stress really easilly. I have never had a problem with letting the tank sit overnight and then adding salt and bacteria starter. Then just start slowly introducing fish starting with the hardiest (like zebra danios, get a trio of them and they don’t take up much space either). This guy doen’t seem to know what he is talking about it seems rehearsed.

So, he’s basically telling everyone to get a disposable fish to cyle their tanks with? That sucks, & is pretty cruel. Why not do a fishless cycle? It’s misinformation like this that hurts the hobby.
